OUR MISSION
WHO WE ARE
Waterloo Regional REACT is a volunteer organization made up of regular citizens just like you. Established in 1972, our organization has developed a strong professional relationship with the emergency services, event organizers and the community alike.
With a near total of 2600 man-hours in 2010, REACT continues to take pride in the highly professional service it offers. Within this overwhelming number of strictly volunteer hours, members of the organization have provided, and continue to provide, coverage in these areas: communications, first aid, scene lighting, crowd control, patient and emergency service transportation, manpower and many others depending on the need of the situation.
One of the most successful services is our Scene Lighting Program, which became a vital role in motor vehicle collision investigations, rescue operations, and even fighting major nighttime fires. In 2010 Waterloo Regional REACT had a total of 23 emergency responses. Of those emergency responses, 90% of them required our scene lighting units. In the end, there is no other volunteer organization quite like Waterloo Regional REACT in the Region of Waterloo that continues to provide such a wide range of professional service to the emergency services. We owe our success to our members - the volunteers who make these services possible!
