Text Box: he Rescue Argo provides a unique service to the public and the emergency services through its all-terrain capabilities and its ability to transport patients safely from point “a” to point “b”.
Its versatility is astounding, beginning with the number 9 stretcher used by the EMS that can be transferred easily from the Argo to an ambulance.  This prevents paramedics from having to move patients from one bed to another, eliminating the risk of causing further harm to the patient.
The stretcher unit locks in place in a customized Argo stretcher holder.  When the Argo is mobile with a patient, the patient is securely strapped in with safety harnesses.  The stretcher holder is also removable to allow more room for equipment, more room for personnel, or less weight for operations such as ice rescues and transporting the emergency services into remote locations.
The Argo is also an amphibious vehicle, meaning it can travel on land, and in water, making it the ideal vehicle for ice rescues.
This vehicle has proven to be a great asset to the organization through its ability to transport patients through crowds with ease at major events such as the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival.
Other uses for the Rescue Argo include:  rescues in remote places such as forests or trails; ice rescues; and searches.  With such a  broad range of uses, this vehicle is an asset to the emergency services and the community.
